Do AXOR showers require special plumbing?

The answer in short is not usually. From our experience installing AXOR showers, they don’t require any unusual or completely different plumbing compared with other high-end shower systems, but there are a few important things to know:

Axor shower

Standard plumbing connections

AXOR showers generally use the same hot and cold water feeds as most quality shower valves and heads. So, if your home already has a good plumbing setup, there won’t be anything radically different to connect.

High-end features sometimes need planning

Some AXOR systems, especially rain heads, ceiling-mounted showers, or models with multiple spray types like PowderRain, can benefit from proper water pressure, flow rates and correct valve positioning. In these cases, we make sure the plumbing behind the wall is arranged to match the manufacturer’s specs so everything performs perfectly.

Why installers matter

AXOR products are precision-engineered. Without correct plumbing alignment, you can lose performance or put unnecessary stress on the fittings. That’s where an experienced installer like Coastal Heat Ltd makes a difference — we assess your water system and make sure the plumbing works with the shower you choose, not just fits it.

In short:

You don’t need “special” plumbing in the sense of new pipe types or unusual connections, but you do need properly configured plumbing, good water pressure and an installer who knows luxury showers. And we’re always happy to help with that.
